Learn about the benefits of your favourite brew.
Coffee isn’t just for a quick morning pick-me-up. Studies show that drinking coffee may help you live longer. Here’s a quick breakdown of how coffee can benefit you and your body.

Is coffee good for me?

Yes. Aside from making you feel more awake and alert, studies show that coffee can lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Coffee is also high in antioxidants known to lower the risk of neuro-degenerative illnesses. Studies have shown coffee drinkers have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

What’s in my coffee?

Coffee is rich in riboflavin, also known as vitamin B2, which plays a vital role in maintaining the body’s energy supply. Coffee also contains vitamins B3 and vitamin B5 that keeps your skin, hair, and eyes healthy. These nutrients retain their value even after the beans have been roasted and brewed.

Can it help me lose weight?

Coffee is a low calorie beverage. If you drink it black, a 235ml cup of black coffee contains only 1 calorie.

In addition, studies have shown that caffeine can boost your metabolic rate by 11% percent, making your body process and absorb food faster.

However, adding sugar, milk, and flavouring syrups increases the calories in each cuppa.

How much should I drink?

Optimal consumption is around four 235ml cups (approximately 400mg of caffeine) per day.
