Situated at 1,500 metres above sea level in the Wahgi Valley of the Western Highlands, this estate was established in the 1950s and has consistently produced some of the world's finest coffee for more than 20 years. Planted exclusively with Arabica seeds from Jamaica Blue Mountain Typica rootstock, the coffee cherries are handpicked between May and July and wet processed, being pulped on the day of harvest and fermented for three days, broken every 24 hours by washing, and then sundried. Unlike other washed processed coffees, Sigri Excellence is totally immersed in water for a further day, creating a unique smoky liquor that is layered with notes of sweetness. An exceptional cup.
