The story of Bacha Coffee begins in 1910, where it was founded inside the Dar el Bacha, a collection of stately buildings that once hosted the likes of writer Colette, composer Maurice Ravel, filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, entertainer Josephine Baker, US president Franklin Roosevelt and UK prime minister Winston Churchill, to name a few.
Today, you can enjoy the Bacha Coffee experience at coffee rooms in Marrakech’s original location, as well as iconic landmark destinations all over Europe, Middle East and Asia.
2. There are over 200 Arabica coffees to choose from.
With pure Arabica coffees sourced from 35 of the most well-reputed coffee producing countries, the Bacha Coffee library is an excellent starting point to discover the world’s best harvests.
There are four types of pure Arabica coffee beans available: single origin, fine blended, fine flavoured and naturally CO2 decaffeinated. Each of the over 200 coffees are freshly roasted. You have the option of purchasing whole beans or having them freshly ground on the spot to your preferences.
3. Each coffee harvest is hand-roasted separately.
Bacha Coffee’s beans are roasted at low temperatures in drum roasters using traditional slow methods. As each coffee variety requires a different degree of roasting, harvests are hand-roasted separately to ensure quality.
4. There’s more than just coffee.
Bacha Coffee boutique selection includes coffee accessories and complements. Recreate the Bacha Coffee experience at home with richly coloured coffee cups, pots, filters, measuring spoons and tins in a wide range of sizes and designs.
Coffee complements include pure Tahitian vanilla beans and single origin coffee blossom honey. Grown on coffee plantations, the vanilla beans — available in grinders or whole — adds subtle sweetness and aroma to your brew. The coffee blossom honey are produced by apiaries placed close to coffee plants on plantations. To complete the selection, there are crystalised pure cane sugar sticks, chocolate covered coffee beans, and other items crafted to sweeten your coffee drinking experience.
5. We’re committed to excellence.
Specialty coffee is our baseline but we do not stop there: we offer the widest possible range of exceptional Arabica coffees sourced directly from coffee farmers. We travel the world to find rare harvests and one-of-a-kind farms with hard-to-produce beans in small batches, knowing that the aroma and exquisite taste is so unique that going the distance, however difficult, is always worth it. Attentive handling of each harvest at cultivation, bean selection, storage, artisanal roasting, grinding and brewing is of the upmost importance to ensure the best quality.
We uphold these exacting methods and high standards across all of our coffees, service, gastronomy and signature creations, resulting in the finest 100% Arabica coffee experience in the world.
